Hello everyone reading,

This'll be my first post regarding this so I hope my formatting is good. My "new to me" car is a 2004 coupe 5MT with the D17A1 and 256,500km on the odometer that's about 159,382 freedom units.

Since I live in the great white north stage 0 of my project is simply rust repairs to the rocker panels and rear quarter panels to pass inspection this June, replacing the EVAP module and fixing a wiring issue for the right low beam light.

Once this is complete I'll be saving cash to move onto stage 1 or cosmetics, simple mods like window tint and new headlights, short shifter kit & **** and some leather seats from an Acura RSX. Paint the mirrors to match body colour and touch up scratches and scuffs before a detail.

Once this is finished save more cash for stage 2 or handling mods. I want to get raceland coilovers with skunk 2 lower control arms and k-tuned extended lower ball joints and camber / toe kits. I'm planning on upgrading to rear disc brakes, but I'd like to keep the 4x100 bolt pattern if possible. And get 16x7 rims with a 40-45mm offset. A rear sway bar.

Once the handling is pristine stage 2 will be sound and minor power gains, DC sports headers and exhaust, D16Y8 intake manifold swap since it looks alot cleaner, crower stage one cams if I can find someone selling them, I understand they're discontinued. And a D17A2 head swap?

Final stage would be a engine bay cleanup and engine rebuild before saving for a big K-swap years from now.

are you talking about 7th gen car or earlier cars?

Thanks for the heads up, I'll budget more for coilovers when the time comes
7th gen car, do they not require lower control arms in the suspension?

I'll like just find a rebuilt D17a2 and have the dropped in before worrying about the cams or headers, just a catback exhaust for now

Skunk2 for example have very few 7th gen parts, which triggered my inquiry
they only carry the rear lower control arms, which are just bling, no special improvement over stock ones.

also look into my signature, suspension basics link. Some of the vendors/products are outdated, since i wrote it 10 years ago.

I replied on this because you mentioned the cam, and then as an afterthought you said maybe head swap. Different order, just that
