1998 DX Air Conditioning

Air is blown through all vents regardless of which mode is chosen.

most likely the vent door actuator motor is no longer working..

they are mechanical

you will need to open the dash to find out what is wrong.

My old 6th gen was an EX and I replaced or repaired the motor controlled blend door actuator. The DX and LX used a mechanical one?

That is exactly what the problem was so I took it off and in the process of replacing it.
