d17a2 won't start
my car started fine and i drove 2 minutes down the street to the store.came out to leave and it would not start up.while trying to crank it.i can smell gas sorta like it's coming from the back half of the car.it seems like it will go to start up sometimes but doesn't.i pushed in the Schrade valve to see if any fuel comes out.nothing does not even a drop.

Spark?
Fuel?
Plugs wet or dry?
Codes?

Re: d17a2 won't start
i have spark and i disconnected the fuel line at the rail and put the line in a jug.its pumping fuel to the rail when i turn the key.it has no codes the plugs on the passenger side have oil on the firing end.i took the valve cover off for some odd reason and its covered with water and oil underneath it.so could it be a bad warped head and blown head gasket and not enough compression to start it

Just to make sure, you know what a valve cover is right (because some people use names they think are right on this site, but are not right which leads to diagnostic issues)?
In order to remove the valve cover you would have had to remove the timing belt cover, the coilpacks/ignition harness, and the five long bolt which bolt it to the head.
ps: was the oil on the sparking side of the spark plug (inside the combustion chamber) if so are you sure it was oil and not gas?

it has thick milky white resido under the valve cover and oil cap tried cranking it wouldn't start then open the radiator cap it made a hissing noise like when you open a 2 liter drink that's been shook up tried it again just to see then the coolant overflow tank hose popped off the radiator

Re: d17a2 won't start
Still sounds like simple condensation -- unless we can see more.
Pull out the dipstick: Does it oil look like clean oil, dark oil, or a chocolate milkshake?
How low is the radiator?
When is the last time anyone knew it was full?
Fill the radiator, pressurize to 15 PSI using a cooling system pressure tester, let it sit for a while, then crank the engine (spark plugs are still removed) and see if it blows water out of the cylinders when you crank it over.
If you find water has entered into any cylinder using this test, that's bad.
If it's extremely bad you might not even have to pressurize it, liquid may flow right into cylinders.
Note that a bad IAC gasket can also let coolant into the intake, which could enter cylinders eventually.
If the above check does not reveal leakage, then find the sticky thread about "overheating common causes reference" and read in the first post about ways to prove a head gasket combustion pressure leak.
