Excessive Oil Leak

Looking for some coaching. This is my mom’s 2000 that has been a tank for her. She recently told me it’s dropping excessive oil in her driveway so I checked it out and it was over 2 quarts low. It appears to hemorrhaging in the lower front passenger side. I’m just getting familiar with this vehicle as it’s been a tank for mom and really hasn’t needed much over the years. I’ve attached a picture with the area it’s coming from. Cleaned it up this morning but it was difficult in the freeze we are in. I don’t think it’s the valve cover gasket. Any pointers to get me moving in the right direction are greatly appreciated.

Re: Excessive Oil Leak

Vtec solenoid can leak pretty bad on the back of the head and run down to there, or distributor oring.

Re: Excessive Oil Leak

Thanks. Both seem like good and easy maintenance work. Would you recommend OEM or is Advanced/AutoZone safe?

Re: Excessive Oil Leak

I did the Vtech Solenoid filter/gasket (side) and also did the distributor o-ring. No bueno! Any other suggestions. It continues to leak after the engine is turned off. Vehicle is parked with the nose slight downhill.
