1998 I need help with timing (PLEASE HELP)
My belt keeps slipping and I think its the tensioner but I bought a new one and mounted it correctly and sense Honda is the only one that make the spring I hade to go to a pick and pull to get it and it still didn't work and I'm stumped please help

no I have the key and non of the gears have play so it has to be the tensioner but I am not sure but it could be the belt because my dad bought it but I check on advanced auto and it says it works and I am stumpted I've done timing more then 10 times not and it doesn't get tension and it slips when I try to start it

Have you followed the correct procedure? I can’t remember exactly but you’re supposed to line up the timing, tension the belt, then loosen and crank like 6 teeth, then tighten again.

are you aware that the camshaft turns once while the crankshaft turns twice?
where did you put the marks?
you need to put the crankshaft in the right position before checking timing. Can't remember, cylinder 1 at TDC?
