97 DX coupe Brake light/Turn Signal issue/reversal
Hi
My 97 civic dx has the following issue(s):
When I press my brakes, the brakes go on, but so do the front & rear turn signals.
When I put my turn signals/hazards on, they flash where the brake lights should be.
What's going on, and how can I fix this?

This link (similar issue) may help?: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...2618703/page2/
Most likely a ground issue as previously mentioned. Could be a loose bulb or dirty contacts also.
You may want to start by pulling the brake light bulbs from their sockets and check for filament breaks. Also, while they are out carefully clean (avoid scratching) their mounting contacts with 400 grit sandpaper (for metal/black color) on both the bulb base and the sockets. After sanding use rubbing alcohol on a rag to clean the sockets and bulb base. Probably a good idea to do the same on all blinker bulbs/sockets too.
The wrong bulb installed can cause weird problems too, such as a single filament bulb(s) installed in double contact socket(s).
