Spedometer flickers

Spedometer flickers
97 honda civic DX
Hi, a few months ago my spedometer light started to occasionally flicker. I smack to the top of the dashboard would fix it and I wouldnt have an issue for weeks. It has been steadily becoming more and more common and now the light won't turn on at all.
The parking break lights and the turn signal lights still turn on when their supposed to, but not the backlight for the spedometer. I have checked and replaced the fuse but the problem persists. I'm running out of ideas, so I'm hoping one of you will be able to help. Thanks!
