Help 2013 rear door issue

So maybe someone is out there that knows these cars very well can help.
So after a trip to the body shop I notice my driver side rear door isn’t opening from the outside. Inside was opening fine. Unlocking fine and window is fine. As I was investigating, I hit the child safety tab and closed the door. So now the door won’t open at all. The handle doesn’t have much tension so I’m guessing the rod of the handle is off or broken or the inter handle tab is broke.
so what’s my play here?
can I slim Jim it open? If I get the panel off can the outside handle be reached. Obviously the latch can’t be removed with the door shut. I don’t think the child safety switch can be reached with the door shut and panel off.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

Take it back to the body shop if they broke it?

I don’t know they did that. The work was to the front bumper and they had no reason to use the rear doors. I haven’t opened it in a long time and no one has ever sat back there. It could’ve been broke for years.

Oh, nevermind then. Probably your best option is a slim jim. Someone else had to do this recently, but if I'm remembering correctly it was an older generation.
