1992 Civic Rear Door Won't Open
We bought a 92 Civic 4 door with 82K original miles. This was a fixer car for my son's girlfriend. We got the car running and looking nice, but for some reason, the driver side rear door won't open. Even with the lock pull in the up position
I've looked at the inside door panel but it doesn't appear that I can remove it due to some screws toward the rear that are not accessible when the door is closed.
Any suggestions on how to get the door open? Or do I have to destroy the inner panel to get at the lock and handle mechanisms?

Re: 1992 Civic Rear Door Won't Open
It sounds like the linkage came disconnected inside the door panel. Perhaps if you take the other rear door apart and see how the mechanism works, then you may be able to roll the window down on the door that's stuck closed and use a coat hanger to manipulate the mechanism to get the door open. You will have to of course modify the hanger and this could be a little tricky... but persistence should pay off. This is how I'd go about it.
Then you can re-attach the linkage or whatever the problem is... could be a broken door handle on the inside of the door... it's hard to say without it being apart.
