trunk/gas door latch not working
trunk/gas door latch not working
Hi guys,
since last night my latch on the driver side to open gas door and trunk stopped working on my 2009 honda civic. i somehow managed to open the trunk with latch/lever and it worked but now its stuck open! and trunk wont close
tried to push down the latch /lever but no go. also tried to move the key to lock/unlock position which i have no idea what it does but it had no help. I could not get the gas door to work at all.
any idea what could it be. its freezing here so i didnt really had too much time trying to figure out outside.
Thanks

Re: trunk/gas door latch not working
Should be able to disconnect the trunk cable at the latch and then just use your key for the trunk for now.
As for the gas cable, you should be able to reach in from the trunk and feel where the end of the cable is, give it a quarter turn counter clockwise and the cable should pop out and the gas flap should open.
My guess is the cable snapped up by the driver's seat, right where it connects to the handle. I had this happen on my 05 (different generation, but same setup and possibly even the same part)
