Need Help On Replacing Trunk Release Cable!!!
Well, the dumbass cable for the trunk release / gas door broke, and now i have to replace it. I know i have to pull out the rear seat and all the side paneling back there, but does anyone know an easier way to do it? I have to fix this cuz now i cant get gas. haha. Any help would be greatly appreciated. plus some rep points.

pull the carpet in the trunk out and you should be able to see the gas door. There should be some shred of cable left on there so grab that, and pull to open the gas door.
Are you sure it's broken? or is it not working. About a year ago my old neighbor came over to my house crying. Her 03 Accord was almost out of gas and the gas door wouldn't open. The closest Honda dealership is an hour away and she couldn't make it there on the gas she had. She also had to make a trip up to Atlanta that day for a wedding shower or something and that was why she was so upset. She thought she'd have to tow it lol. I went out, pulled out her trunk carpet, and hooked the cable back up. Worked fine.
check that first before you go to replace the entire cable.

Aight here's what you'll see behind the carpet.......one cable going to the trunk latch, and one pressed up right against the left quarter panel of the car.
The cable that goes to the gas-door, give it a little pull.......if it's attached is should work when you pull it manually. If not, it's gonna come off in your hand and if the actual cable isn't broken, now you can see where to reattach it. Not too hard if I remember correctly.

Well, i wish i would have saw these posts a couple hours ago. lol. So i was out earlier working on my car. I finally figured it out. The cable was actually broken because it was broken right at the lever right by the drivers seat. Long story short, the parts are on the way, and ill be back in action tomorrow. Thanks alot for the help tho. You still get rep points.
