2015 Civic LX aux issues - randomly stops playing

2015 Civic LX aux issues - randomly stops playing
Hey everyone,
I’m having a weird issue where when I have my phone hooked up to the aux via the usb connection in the center console, it will pause at random songs right when they start.
I have an iPhone XS Max and I have tried swapping the lightning cable as well.
It’s not doing this when I use Bluetooth, only when I’m playing through aux.
I know I can just use the Bluetooth connection, however I’d prefer the aux connection because it’s louder.
Any help on fixing this is much appreciated!!

Pretty sure those aux ports are a known problem, I believe replacements are available
