Civic Radio
Civic Radio
2008 Civic radio with "code error" after new starter installed. Got this message after trying to enter radio code (have used the code in the past - it' s the right one). I entered the five digit code but nothing happened. When I tried to enter it again is when I get the error message.
Have also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. Same error message when entering the code.

Re: Civic Radio
So either the code is wrong or your procedure is wrong.
Have you personally ever unlocked this radio using the 5 digit code you say you have?
Retrieve the electronic serial number, See if that esn matches your card or produces a different unlock code.
During code entry, I think most radios make a single beep each time a number is entered. (and fills in the letters of the word 'code' as you enter the first four digits, these are clues as to digits already entered)
a long beep when the 5th digit of the correct code activates the radio,
or multiple beeps upon entering the 5th digit of a wrong code. (sad trombone)
The radio remembers wrong button pushes sometimes even after shutoff, so wake up and pay attention:
If you get the multiple beeps BEFORE entering your 5th digit, STOP. THERE
Now it's ready to receive the first digit.of your code. .
starter. they SHOULD have disconnected the battery..
