CIVIC 06 airbag light on
Hey guys, I am a noob at all this but I am trying to fix my civic's airbag light.
3 years ago i had an accident and the the right side airbag curtain deployed. Since than i replaced the airbag unit under the central console, and 3 airbag sensors (one located centrally under the rear back seat, one on the bottom right of the passenger seat and i think one more located in the back right, next to the rear window. I have a constant airbag light on, but when someone seats in my passenger seat i also a passenger side airbag light blinking.
I took the car to the dealership and it seems the issue was isolated to code: 81-79-85-63. It seams like the OPDS unit needs to be replaced and the seat belt buckle. Before I spend all the money was trying to see if anyone else had similar issue and how hard was to DIY?
Thanks

Why a buckle replacement??
IF your code numbers are truly correct, they are
Seat weight sensors --initial check failed
Internal failure of the ODS unit
You say you already got a new airbag control unit---- where did you purchase it from?
Did the dealer erase the SRS codes?
Did they attempt to do the SRS initialization procedures using the HDS scanner?

I got that control unit from a friend. Don't know more info about its history. Dealer insisted on replacing OPDS unit, which i declined due to the high quote, and never did the initialization process.
I've been doing some reading and realized this units are like a VIN number for the car. I actually found the original one in my garage that has the crash on it and will send it to be reset, hoping this will fix the issue since the car should recognize it.

The initialization is done so the new SRS unit can utilize the seat weight sensor inputs and the OPDS/ODS system inputs. (but I cannot say if that's why the codes set unless I can actually troubleshot each code as per the FSM)
and will send it to be reset,
