Hi so we just got an 06 civic ex and we cant tell if the alarm works or not. when using the key to lock it we do the double press to get the beep letting us know that the alarm is set but is there anyway to know that it is working. we tried leaving the windows open then setting it but no response. Also is there an indicator light on the dash that is suppose to light up because we cannot see one of those either.

You should have a flashing orange/red indicator to the left of the speed display when the doors are locked (no need to press twice)

You should also get parking/tail lights flashing once when locking.
