Need help with P1259 code
Re: Need help with P1259 code
But is this bracket necessary? If it’s not needed then I’m not gonna sweat it. The hoses seem fine and I can’t really see a need to get it if it’s doing fine for now.

Checked cam plug and vtec solenoid for the cause of the leaking yesterday, didn’t see any oil around the cam plug nor did I see any around the solenoid gasket area. Leak seems to be coming from lower on the engine. My buddy still seems determined that it’s my rear main seal, still not sure if I agree with him but there does seem to be a lot more oil and residue where the engine and trans come together. Gonna clean the engine up this afternoon with some brake cleaner and degreaser then gonna do the oil pan gasket Sunday. Will try to look on the underside for the leak.

or
Jack the wheels off the ground (safety=jack stands) and run it in 1st gear

Ok so still didn’t get anything done with the P1259 issues. I’m a terrible procrastinator and it’ll probably hurt me in the end. I did plug in a code reader my uncle has, it’s a FIXD Bluetooth code reader. I’ve included a screenshot of the freeze frame data that it showed. Code P0401 changed to P1491, anyone else thing I’ve killed my EGR valve?

Re: Need help with P1259 code
P1491 and P0401 are both valid codes, but if one reader says one thing and another does not, then at least one reader must be lying to you....which ain't good if you're sent down the wrong diagnostic path.
P0401 is low flow
P1491 is insufficient lift (opening)
Also, I don't see any freeze frame data. Just codes.

Re: Need help with P1259 code
Called a shop this morning waiting for a call back to describe my situation and hopefully get a quote. It’s not the route I wanted to go but work is starting to pick up more and I just can’t get the time to worry with it myself. Going to tell them the codes I have and also going to mention the oil leak (which seems to be getting worse).
