DRL On

a few weeks ago when i started my car, the DRL light came on the dash, which has never happened before, unless my hand brake is on,

i never use my hand brake, really only when i service the vehicle,

so with the car idling and still in park, i engaged the hand brake and released it a few times, but the DRL still stayed on, i drove away and the light went off by itself after about 2 mins,

this happened once again a few days later, but has not happened now in over a week,

no service has been done to the car during this time, kinda strange, anything to look for or be concerned about?

Re: DRL On

8th gen ??

DRL on the dash is to indicate a problem with the system.

Next time look to see if both are lit when in DRL mode (or high beams) The system still lights the working sides bulb.

its been happening now maybe once every 7-10 days always after i start the engine,

when the DRL light is on, the headlights are completely off,

things i have noticed.....

when the DRL is on, if i turn my headlights on, and then turn them off, the DRL light goes out and the DRL's work as normal,

also,

this morning i started it up and the DRL light was on, no headlights at all, i opened and closed my drivers door, and when i closed the door the DRL light went out and the DRL lights came on

Re: DRL On

You likely have the separate DRL control box.

Maybe you can touch up some of the solder connections at the relay pins, and the connector pins solder joints as well

Re: DRL On

this problem has got progressively worse since i started this thread,

its to the point now where my DRL's do not work at all and the DRL is on all the time,

only time the DRL on the dash will disappear is if i put my headlights on manually every time i drive which is a pain the

is there any easy fix for this? if not i guess i will just keep doing what im doing

My 1st thoughts still on this. Get it loose and whack it with a screwdriver handle when drl are inop and watch for changes.
