Exclamation Starting Problems

I have a 2002 Honda Civic DX that was stored in my garage for a few months. Now that I tried to start it nothing happens. When the key is inserted there was not lights on the dash board, and no sounds. I thought it was the battery so I tried jump starting it. I connect positive to positive and the negative to ground yet same result, nothing! Is it worth trying to jump start it positive to positive and negative to negative? If it's not the battery, what can it be?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
