Squeaking noise when making left turns!
Squeaking noise when making left turns!
Recently my car, 2005 Civic w/ MT, was making a loud sound like I was in an airplane and thanks to people here they figured out the problem, which was the wheel bearing! I had it replaced and the noise went away but now I have a new problem. When I turn left my car makes a loud squeaking noise. It happens every day! I took my car to a parking lot and drove in circles to see when if it was only happening when I turn left and bingo only left. But every so often the squeaking noise even shows up when I'm going straight or slowing down. And when that happens I noticed as well is when I brake the noise goes away but the second I release the brakes it comes back. But mostly the problem is when on left turns. Any advice or ideas will be very helpful!

You have at least one brake pad that is down to about 1mm or less.
Time to take a look and probably do a brake job.

Second that, could be just plain noisy rotors too. Mine squeak and sqwak all the time, gotten used to it. Aftermarkets are the worst. Mine are from NAPA, good rotors as far as functionality, but noisy.

Re: Squeaking noise when making left turns!
Just as ezone said. I had the exact same symptoms on my wife's old ford explorer. On the brakes silent, off the brakes squeaking. And this was on the rear, so no turning involved, but they were loud when the brake was not depressed.
Re: Squeaking noise when making left turns!
Yes it does sound like the discription of a wear sensor......
Please explain! You had the front wheel bearing replaced recently by a "reputable" tech??? or even should I bluntly say qualified???
Then PLEASE someone explain why the pads would now be worn??? he had them in his hands! Could have opened his eyes or his mouth and mentioned that you had 1mm left, No?
So.... if I assume that the bearing replacement was done by a non visually challenged individual then I would guess the pads are OK and the splash shield is rubbing on the rotor or one of the pad alignment shims (them little metalic shims between the pad and caliper bracket) dislodged and is rubbing on rotor. I just hope he tightened the axle hub bolt to spec!
Just pull the front wheels off and inspect the pads.... should take a whole of 15 minutes.....check for bearing loosness before removing wheel.....could be a sign of bigger problems (a loose hub nut causing a loose bearing and a rotor touching the splash shield)
was the bearing replaced on the right front?? start with that wheel!
