Squeaking in clutch pedal

I have a 05 civic ex coupe 5 speed, completely stock. Started noticing a squeaking like noise in the clutch pedal everytime I push it in and let it out. I can feel it in the pedal also. Is that bad? Fixable? its kind of annoying. can anyone help me out or give me any suggestions?

Re: Squeaking in clutch pedal

Welcome to the forum.

It's the tension spring on the clutch pedal that is making the noise.

Get a can of Teflon or white lithium grease and spray the spring. Work the pedal while you spray it, the noise should go away.

Wasn't the clutch squeak from the slave cylinder push rod?

tried cleaning and repacking the housing with grease but didn't do anything for me. the push rod on mine didn't look too worn so I didn't replace it. my squeak sounds like to comes from the pedal. it really only shows up when i'm in traffic and having to shift a lot or just roll up in traffic.

Re: Squeaking in clutch pedal

My squeak was from the tension spring on the pedal, but other people may have a squeak from the push rod.

Re: Squeaking in clutch pedal

No. It's not the stage 2 clutch. Squeaky clutch is a common thing in 7thgens

Re: Squeaking in clutch pedal

Forgot to comment back on the thread. I ended up laying in the floor board and pushing the clutch half in and spraying some white lithium chain lube into the cylinder and that quieted it down quite a bit.

I have heard it squeak from the front of the engine (even after I packed the push rod with grease) but that's usually just when I pull up to the drive through or something.

The squeak coming from inside the car was way more annoying!!
