Rep Power: 0 Squeaking noise when unbraking.
I have an automatic 2005 honda civic with 61,000 miles. After letting go of the brakes after a complete stop I hear this faint squeaking sound. It only lasts for like a second. The noise does NOT happen while I am stopping, only when unbraking. What can it be??
thank you for any advice.

put the car in neutral on a flat road, hold down the ebrake button and move the lever fully up and then drop it down. do this a few times and listen for the squeak as you are lowering the ebrake handle. you may need to get the car rolling a bit in D and try again. sometimes it does it when sitting still, other times when moving. if you hear the same squeak, you need to lube the rear drum brake cable inside the drum assembly.

Its prob the front calipers. My 05 vp has made the same sound from the front right brake for a while now. Replacing and relubricating the brakes and moving parts didnt help. Maybe its the piston itself?
