manual slipping with a fairly new clutch
manual slipping with a fairly new clutch
so im at work (delivering pizzas) and i pulled outta the parking lot in first then second then slip into third...like a long slip. i think "okay maybe that was just me" shift to 4th slips again. stop. put it back in 1st, drive, shifts fine, into second slip third slip 4th slip...
but if i shift VERY slowly and carefully it doesnt slip too much just 2nd and a little in 3rd
the clutch has only ~2500 miles on it but the flywheel is still stock i believe.
please tell me i need a new flywheel/clutch and not a new tranny

Clutch pedal adjusted properly?
If there's grease/oil on the flywheel surface that will cause major slippage, you're supposed to wipe down the flywheel with brake cleaner before install and be careful to keep it clean.

Re: manual slipping with a fairly new clutch
ahh my next question...how to adjust it?
and hopefully the guy who i bought it from knew that when he replaced it but if he didnt keep it clean i dont see why it would just now 2500 miles later start slipping?

Re: manual slipping with a fairly new clutch
There's a few potential causes, none of which should require a new transmission to my knowledge..
Start with the clutch pedal though, it's supposed to be adjusted any time a new clutch is installed.
