Annoying noises!

So for awhile now my Civic has been annoying me with a squeak/whistle noise at startup and during acceleration. It seems to quiet down after the trans shifts. I was thinking to maybe check the belts but not sure. If belts, where should I start? Oh and I had the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump done not too long ago. The sound was there before, and still there after.
(And yes, I used the search function. Just looking for other input.)

I'd think that after a TB job, they'd replace the old drive belts with new ones. You can try this test to see. While the car is running, individually spray each belt either with some water or belt dressing. Just don't go crazy with it. My girlfriend's car had the same problem. It turned out to just be old belts.

Re: Annoying noises!

Thanks, I'll try that.

As for the TB job.. well the mechanics half-assed it because they didn't want to work late finishing my car. They didn't even put everything back together, and the cooling system wasn't bled enough. Had to take it back and make them finish it right. So I guess replacing the other belts would have been too much for them to handle. :/

Re: Annoying noises!

. Seriously though, best of luck getting everything situated with your car. It really bothers me when a tech/mechanic half-asses their job for the sake of time. You hurt your rep and can lose customers that way.
