Driver Door Lock Problem
Driver Door Lock Problem
Hi, I live in ohio and the winter is just now starting to set in. I've had my civic since August and was wondering what kind of noises others civics make when the cold sets in. I have a 2001 ex 2dr and the driver door lock just now started to stick adn now it wont turn at all. Also my key fob doesnt work and I just replaced the battery. A little adivce would be great. thanks

Re: Driver Door Lock Problem
If your key doesnt work, you shouldnt jam it in there... basically ice is built up inside the lock mechanistic and you need to melt it to turn the key. I dont have a remote for my car, so cant comment there.
The civic shouldnt make any different noises in the winter time then it does in regular weather. If its really cold, your bushings could make some noise. I started having a squeeky manual shifter thats getting hard to shift, and even tho its cold, I know it has an issue and need to check it out.
