SRS Warning Light
SRS Warning Light
Forgive me if this topic has already been posted. I searched for it and did not find it.
The SRS light won't go out on my 2001 EX. I bought it used with 86,000 miles on it. The dealer replaced the computer module and said it was fixed before I bought it. Driving home, however I saw that the light was still on. I know the dealer swapped out the computer module because the old one was left in the glove compartment.
I have read about the numerous problems with the SRS system and the frustrations many owners have experienced.
My problem is magnified because I travelled 350 miles to buy this car. I was having problems finding anything in my area with under 100,000 miles in my price range. So I can't just return it to the dealer where I bought it.
Any suggestions on how to approach a local dealer and getting this taken care of?
Thanks in advance.

Re: SRS Warning Light
From my research, i hear that it's a seatbelt sensor problem
Mine went on a week ago, and just ignored it since
Don't feel like getting ripped to do a diagnostic, or hassling honda to replace my seatbelt as of yet

Re: SRS Warning Light
I just talked to a dealer service tech. He said the air bags won't activate while this light is on. The seatbelt may or may not function properly.
Also the first dealer I talked to quoted me $139 to do a diagnostic. The second quoted me $69. Hmmm. which one to take?

Re: SRS Warning Light
Dropped it off at the dealer today. Their diagnostic indicated a faulty driver seatbelt buckle. It's covered under warranty so they'll order the part and replace it for me. I'm only out $69.00.
Hopefully the light will stay out this time.
