New Cruise Control Issue???

While on my way home from the store tonight, I set my cruise control. Approximately a second later there was a click from under the hood and it kicked in. That worried me, so I turned it off, only for it to make the same sound when I turned it off. The sound is not coming from the buttons on the wheel, but sound like they are coming from the cowl section of the car.
If I recall, the cruise lever mechanism is directly next to the throttle, like in front of it. There is a gap between the two, about a 1/4 inch. I notice that when I have someone rev the motor, the throttle moves before hitting the cruise lever. Isn't there not supposed to be a gap between the two??? and if so, is there a way to tighten it to eliminate the gap???

Like so: (Sorry for poor diagram, but can't post pics yet.

Thanks for all the help that anyone can provide this newb

you could try the adjusting nut on the throttle body. Take off the airbox from the throttle body and you should see a nut and you loosen the nut and the threaded rod. Its kinda hard to explain, I think there is a DIY around here. That click may be a relay, I have the wiring diagram but I just woke up. And that 1/4" might be ok because if I remember correctly on the double pull part on the throttle body there is a little bit of play.

Re: New Cruise Control Issue???

Hello Friends,
I need to find the FD3 OR FD1 HONDA CIVIC Cruise controller wiring diagram? Is there a way to get it.

Thanks
