Brake System amber light
Brake System amber light
2009 Hybrid, checked it all, all new brakes, car drives and stops great, just can’t get the Brake System light to go out, and because of it AutoStop doesn’t work. Any ideas on how to reset?? I’ve disconnected battery (it’s new), bled all brakes, fluid full, #4 fuse good, I’m at a loss.

Re: Brake System amber light
not familiar with that gen cars or hybrids, but parking brake lever that are mechanically activated usually have an electrical switch that signals if the brake is activated or not...
that switch can be damaged or dislocated or wires could have been pinched, etc and it could have been the culprit for malfunctions if it is not sending the signal properly
electronical/electrical parking brake systems would not have the switch, but your car should have an cable activated parking brake, thus mechanically activated. Your car do have a parking brake lever, non?

Re: Brake System amber light
It’s not braking right….it starts to but the pedal can go to the floor…it almost feels like internal leaking going on…that’s why I suspect the master cylinder…I’ve done everything else I can think of. You would think that the “brake system” light would at least throw a code…nothing.

Re: Brake System amber light
And you didn't think to mention that in any of your other posts!? Your first post says "drives and stops great"
Re: Brake System amber light
As of yesterday it was….then after really working the brake pedal a few times it started feeling more and more mushy….but otherwise it was stopping fine but still didn’t “feel” right…..
Re: Brake System amber light
Lol ok so everything is disconnected and MC is loose but just won’t come out…feels like something is still connected somewhere….took pin out of brake pedal….is there something else I’m missing?? It moves out maybe 1/4 inch or so and then something stops it….anybody?????!!!! Thanks…
Re: Brake System amber light
Hybrid must be totally different than regular civics….just wondering I’f I need to remove the brake pedal and pull everything out….just can’t find anything anywhere about it…..frustrating for sure
