Hi all, would really like some help. I have a 2007 civic 2.2 I cdti, So I can get gears most of the time but now and then (clutch and box will always be hot) it will not select gear but clutch pedel is fine. Will select gear when engine is not running, have changed fluid and had pressure tested all to no avail. Garage said definetly clutch but I'm thinking more slave/master cylinder. Any help or tips would be much appreciated.

Honestly I cant fully remember how the transmission system works

but

if the clutch were bad you'd have no access to the power as the engine would spin but give no power to them transmission.

if the master/slave were bad the clutch would be permanently engaged, so you wouldn't be able to get out of power to shift.

but you're issue may be synchros since you can intermittently get into gear.

I'd probably check the fallowing and if you find the isdue stop at that step.

-check the engine/transmission mounts
-bleed clutch line
-check clutch itself
-open case and inspect synchros
