Strange Clutch Behaviour?

Yes I did a search but was not able to find an answer. I have never seen a clutch act the way like the one in my 01 Civic LX. A week ago the clutch started to engage as soon as the pedal was let off the floor. Happened in an instant - was normal and then the next time I started the car the clutch started to engage differently. The next day the clutch started to perform normally again.

So last weekend it gets worse. This time I try to get the shifter to go into gear and it takes extreme effort! Can barely get it into gear - thought my clutch was going out fast. So last night I start the car up and the clutch and shifter are working fine again? What the hell?

Could it be in the clutch master cylinder? Any ideas? Never had this happen with any other car I have owned. My LX now has 98,000+.

when's the last time you've replaced your tranny fluid?

perhaps something is blocking the way in your engine bay

Air bubble in the clutch line, or one cylinder is going. Classic Honda. All my Honda's warned me like this long before the clutch cylinder died. It has nothing to do with the engine or tranny. BTW, brakes sometimes did this too. I think it's warning of seal failure.

Check your fluid levels, they might be a little low. I had this problem when I first got my car and had to have my master cylinder replaced.
