0 compression all 4 cylinders
0 compression all 4 cylinders
Was doing a head gasket job for a friend, car was running fine but was getting that good milky stuff in the oil cap so we we went ahead and did it. job went well other than reusing the timing chain. On the first crank I heard a few unsettling click noises but nothing after that and what was clearly an engine cranking with no compression. Just loud whining. I checked for spark and fuel both running perfectly so I ran a compression test and got 0 on all 4 so right away I think musta skipped timing. Get a new belt, take the timing cover off and right in the hole where the seal goes the cover had pretty much shattered on the inside, somehow no pieces went in the oil pan. That’ll teach you not to use the impact putting the crank bolt back on. Got a new cover put the new chain in start it up, same thing just spinning. Then I go back in and do a valve adjustment come to find one rocker arm on each piston on the intake side was just flopping around, no idea exactly what that tells but I imagine not good hopefully not bent valves. Anyways I adjust them, no change on start up. Only thing left I can think of is a leak down test, any suggestions?
Re: 0 compression all 4 cylinders
had a guy come down with an endoscope, confirmed valves and pistons are in good condition so pretty much has to be the timing or something else i’m completely unaware of
