95 Honda civic

I have a 95 Honda civic lx, and I had a misfire in cylinder 4... Did compression test... No compression in cylinder 4. All othe cylinders were between 150-160. So I disassemble the top end took off the head... I had two burnt exhaust valves, took my head in and got it fixed up. Butt when I put it all back together it wouldn't start, spark is good, timing is solid, I even took the valve cover off and watched the spark right at or before TDC, anyway so I did a compression test. I now have a very low compression of 60 psi all most exactly in all four cylinders, cud this be valve lash cause that is something I didn't check. Any ideas?

That's one of the FIRST things to check. That's probably why it burned the valves too.

Also I had a question about timing, I here that civics are exteremley touchy and this is my first civic so are there any precautions I need to take when doing timing, like I said earlier I think timing is on well but before I fire it up is like to make damn sure.

Re: 95 Honda civic

Put the distributor back in exactly where it was, look for the marks from the bolts/washers as a guide.

Belt timing is far more important at this point to get it to run.

Worry about distributor adjustment after it runs. You need to short the SCS connector to set dist timing.... See your service manual for specs and stuff.
Once the dist timing is set correctly, it never ever needs adjusted again unless it is removed again.
