Hi, I have a 2009 Civic Ex that is having starter issues in the morning only. I turn the key all the way to the start position, and it is as if the starter is dead. It does absolutely nothing. After about 8-12 seconds (getting worse as the weeks pass) of holding the key in the start position, all of a sudden, the starter fires up, and the car starts and runs normally. All the lights work, and the dash lights up like normal. For the rest of the day, everything is normal, the starter engages immediately, and the car starts right up, even after sitting 8 hours at work. It is only in the morning. After its sits for 12 hours, it starts acting up.
So far, I have replaced/done the following:

• Ignition switch
• Cleaned battery terminals and cables
• had the battery tested- its good (only a year old)
• swapped the starter relay for a known good relay

My next plan is to replace the starter. Maybe the starter solenoid or starter is acting up. My only other thought is that it could be fuel-related, such as the fuel pump relay or fuel pump acting up, but the symptoms I'm experiencing don't match that. Thank you for any help!

wack the starter motor when it does not move - solenoid might be stuck
