2015 won't start [solved]
Hello everyone!
We bought a 2015 Civic sedan 3 weeks ago, it has 112k miles or so. It always seemed to crank hard a couple times then start, but haven't had any issues really. Drove it to SC to MD, drove around a week, drove back (got 38mpg average for a week of mixed driving).
Yesterday wife drove it to work, drove it home. A few minutes later, we get in and it tries to crank a couple times and stops, tries a couple, and stops, and won't start.
I took the battery out and to a parts store. It had 11.5v. They charged it over night and tested it, said it was fine. I put it in the car and it's still doing the same thing. My cheap multimeter says it has 23v right now. Ideas????
(sidenote the stereo now wants a code, I don't see it anywhere in the paperwork we received. Do I have to contact a dealership for help?)

re: 2015 won't start [solved]
on 7th gen cars, it seem to be common to get starting issues a few minutes after turning hot engine off. Parts get old, heat increases resistance (electrical)
is your fuel pump priming? turn car into position I (without trying to start engine) and listen to pump hum.

thanks sir. I have the push button start, so it tries to crank right away. It cooled over night (in the garage) and is still just 'trying' to crank this morning (but also the lights go dim and the computer is clicking like crazy). I'm getting out the BT OBD reader now...

if you don't push the brakes, it will turn into position I without starting engine.
lights dimming?
makes one think these:
battery not holding power? alternator not charging? battery connectors are tight? Any rodent chewing wires?

So I tried jumping it and started right up.
Put in a new battery and it's fine. Old battery was 3.5years old.
AND the radio also finally just said "hold power for 2 seconds" and it didn't need any code.
Learned that O'Reilly battery tester doesn't work, my multimeter is way off.
Thanks for the help!!
