Hey all

We have a 2015 civic we bought brand new and have cared for well. Regular full synth oil changes, transmission every 30k, ect.

Recently it has started cutting out when accelerating from a stop. Say you are at a stop light and you accelerate, it will lose power for a second then engage and move. It is disconcerting.

I have changed the plugs and the transmission fluid (85K), put some seafoam in the tank. I didn't see any evidence of metal on the transmission plug and the fluid looked / smelled okay.

Any idea what may be causing this loss of power?

In case anyone runs into this. It was the air intake hose behind the filter. It had dry rotted and cracked and was letting more air into the engine than was supposed to be going in, probably throwing off the air/fuel mixture.

Have a engine code pop up on my 2015 CX-5 because someone broke the tab for the air box locking. in older cars, it can be anything, really...
