Hello,

I have a 2015 Honda Civic Coupe, with Continuously Variable Transmission LX.

I check under the hood weekly, this weekend I noticed the transmission CVT plug was off on the engine and some fluid have spilled out. I cleaned the plug good and put it back in.

I have CVT fluid but how do you check the CVT fluid level in the trans? I just don't want to guess and pour any amount in. The Owner's Manual has nothing and Google video has nothing.

How many miles on it?
My dealer still recommends 30,000 fluid service intervals, so if yours is anywhere close to that I'd say to just have the trans fluid serviced (drain and fill) and that will take care of the fluid level.

If still under warranty see if the dealership will replace the rubber plug and check/add fluid if necessary

Fluid level is critical, too much can be just as bad as too little

Remove and clean out the trans vent tube cap (directly below thermostat housing), as that little thing clogging with dirt can cause the rubber plug to pop out

You know that trans MUST use the HCF-2 fluid from Honda, yes?

Thanks, Yes I have Honda CVT fluid, however, is there anyway to check the level?
