Im new to this forum. Cant seem to figure out how too start my own thread yet. I have an 07 si and it will crank and occasionally fire but will not run. Ran fine untill I parked it and it was towed. Long story. Went to reclaim car and crank crank crank, but no start. I think its related to the tow. Wheels were turned and in gear with e brake on.

Not getting fuel? Did the tow company disconnect something to prevent theft?

Pretty sure its getting fuel. I can hear fuel pump run. It sputters briefly once and a while and then just crank. Kind of like when you try to start your car and you don't have a chip key. I tried both of my keys and same thing. Put a new battery in it today, figured what the heck, still same.
guy at Auto Zone said that some of the newer cars have a like kill switch in them so if the car is being towed up on a roll back, at a steep angle, it kills the alarm and shuts of the ignition. Also if car rolls over it wont keep pumping fuel and explode. I know, Auto Zone right! Ill look into this. Also said car may have lost the fuel prime. Still checking that out.

Out of gas maybe? Where is the needle?

Flooded it? Are the plugs wet or dry?

How long was the car sitting? Was it locked? Did the yard have keys to it?

Full tank of gas. Put new plugs in and old Ones were dry. Car was on tow truck for about an hour and he took me with him to impound lot so I could get my car out that night only to find out it was closed. Thats when I gave him my key so he could start it and get it off the roll back easier. 20 mins later he comes out of the lot to tell me it wont start. Next day I went there to get the car out and had to push it out of the impound lot. Still wouldnt start. I think the tow guy did something to it to cause it not to start, but i dont know. The codes you are referring to is the radio code? I will try that tomorrow. Its run before when I change the battery and did not enter the code. just no radio.

No, I meant fault codes from the computer. Check Engine Light.


Is the green key symbol flashing rapidly while you try to start it?
Does it run for 2 seconds then dies?

Ill get a scanner tool and check that today. The Green light comes on very briefly and then goes out. and stays out. I wouldnt say it runs for 2 seconds, but occasionally it tries to and then crank crank.

Plugged in the scanner tool and got the p1009 code "Camshaft position stuck at advanced position confirmed".
How hard is it to fix this??

Do you leave your car in gear? If it was dragged in gear the engine HAS to rotate. If it was dragged forwards while in reverse (or vice versa) sometimes bad things will happen. It is possible to for the timing chain to jump sprockets with a hard enough force applied.

i have the same exact issue after being towed,Mainly just cranks occasionally will start for maximum 1 second and then it dies. I have 3 fault codes,
P062F-PCM Internal Control Module keep Alive Memory Error
P0113-IAT Sensor 1 voltage High
P0102- MAF Sensor Voltage High
