2013 Honda Civic starting problems [solved]

When this first started I was sitting in my car and I turned it off and forgot to turn my head lights off and within 30 mins my car was dead and when ever I tired to start my car some messages popped up one of them being check brake system.

I was able to get the battery jumped and it started up just fine. The CEL code went away but after that day every time I would start it it would pop up again. The engine hesitated to start instead of cranking right up, but now my issue is that my car won’t start at all.

I took my battery to auto zone to have them charge it since jumping it wouldn’t start it. I put the battery back in and it still won’t start. Any help would be great so I can get back on the road and I’m sorry for the book I just wrote lol

Did the parts store tell you whether the battery is holding charge or not? If the battery is working properly then it could be loose, corroded or failed battery/starter connections. Could be a failed starter or starter solenoid? Could be an issue with the ignition switch?

The video below may help.

They tested it when I got there and she said she thinks it just needs to be charged so she took it in side and charged it but when I came back to get she didn’t test it again but we have determined that it is the battery

Good to hear you got it figured out. If you live in the U.S. Walmart (IMO) is the best place to buy a battery. For returns they don't pro-rate based on years/mileage. If it fails within the warranty (years/mileage) you get a new battery. They are also priced better than other stores for comparison cold cranking amps.
