Recirculating Button 2013 Civic [solved]
Recirculating Button 2013 Civic [solved]
I have a 2013 Civic Ex. When I turn the ignition on the recirculating light comes on then goes off. Sometimes it comes on and stays on. The problem is when it is off, the a/c fans do not work. Are they connected somehow and why would the recirculate button be intermittent ? Sometimes when the recirculating button is working, when I increase the fan speed, the engine RPM increases really high which is very unusual. I know putting a load on the engine can cause an increase in RPM, but this is a little more that it normally does. I did not find any fuses or relays bad, but it may because a relay is intermittent, I don't know. If anyone has any ideas what is going on, I would appreciate the information. I thought maybe it was the car battery but I had that checked and it is fine. Also, all the other features on that panel seem to work, just no fan blowing with the recirculating light not working. Thanks for your help.
Re: Recirculating Button 2013 Civic
After pulling the air conditioning console out and back in about 8 times because I either forgot something or something wasn't working just right. I went on to see if there was power to the A/C blower motor and there was. I decided to pull the fan out and connected it to a 12 volt power supply and it was good. I hooked everything back up without installing anything and tried it out and the A/C fan was working correctly and the recirculation button was working normal again. I had to come to the conclusion that it was a bad connection between the power supply and the blower. I assembled everything back and had no parts left over, so I must have done it right. I got away cheap this time and didn't have to go to the dealer to get it repaired.

I’m having the same issue! The recirculate button only works when the car just turned on, or at very random times it will actually stay on. But when the recirculate button doesn’t work, my a/c feels warm. Was it an easy fix to complete on your own?

Took it to 3 different mechanics and they said it was an electrical issue…freon level is fine… they recommend replacing the compressor. Are the hybrid compressors, which are very expensive, all that different from standard 2012 civic compressors?
