skrrttt is an unknown quantity at this point

P1259 on d17a1 engine?

2002 Honda civic ex sedan

throwing codes p1259 and p1491

engine is stamped d17a1(non vtec after research)
bought car used, don’t see a solenoid or anywhere I could put one also there isn’t an egr valve(delete?)

is this not the original engine?

It's throwing a vtec code because it's looking for vtec that isnt there. Someone put the wrong engine in. Ex is supposed to have a d17a2. You would need to put an a2 head on at the minimum.
