Just a little heat

Been looking through some of the old threads, figured I’d post a new one just to be sure.

2005 civic EX has only just a little heat. Turning the **** all the way from cold to hot chances the temperature maybe 3°.

I figure I’ll Remove the cable from the valve on that heater hose. Ensure it has full travel. If not replace.

Ensure the cable mounts are intact to the servo and not hindering full travel.

Whats the next step? Is it to mess with the potentiometer on the dash or to mess with the servo.

Not sure what to chase here.

Gauge on the dash reads correctly?
Check the valve opens all the way
Check the blend doors are working
Heater core may be clogged

Hose valve moves correctly. It’s not a controller/**** issue. Gauges fine.

will check barn doors, they move fine when changing from foot to face to defogger. But that’s a different set I guess?

clogged maybe. I back flushed it pretty good when I had the overheating two years back, maybe due again.

Yes res is full.

The heater hose before the valve is hot, after the valve warm, return is quite cool.

I will not be replacing the heater core but may try to back flush it again. I hear some folks use CLR in the process?
