Alignment

On my 2001, the outside of the passenger side tire is wearing. Jacked it up and can't see any obvious slop. What is a typical place to find worn parts in these cars?

Re: Alignment

the compliance bushing in the lower control arm, the big one.
when was the last time you aligned? Recommendation is once a year.
lots of parts could be culprit at the age our cars are. Mine was tie-rod.

Re: Alignment

I've had the car a bit over a year and never had it in the shop. It has 160K on it. This front suspension (except the struts) is a totally foreign design to me. Very strange looking, such as the rack location and the use of vertical pivot bushing at the leading edge of the LCA.

Re: Alignment

yes, that is the compliance bushing - that is the usual one that gets torn.
PS: I usually swap the arms completely, they are not that expensive - pushing the bushings in takes more money in the end

but i recommend having a shop look at it - it just might need an alignment
