Push it to the floor to start
Push it to the floor to start
Hi,
2001 honda civic ex coupe manual -I have to press the clutch to the floor to start and to shift into 1st. A friend who has a few civics says that that's not normal.
It shifts pretty smooth otherwise. Question is, is that the way it's supposed to be for this generation civic?
I appreciate the help.

Re: Push it to the floor to start
It sounds like the clutch is working as it should. I don't understand.
The clutch has to be pressed all the way down before the car will start. This is to avoid someone starting the car while in gear and hitting something. Clutch has to be pressed all the way down to get into gear as well, that's literally it's job.
