Car wont start. out of ideas

I have a 2002 honda civic lx 5 speed. i got in my car to go to my friends house and when i went to start the car nothing happened like the clutch wasn't pushed in (but it was

) so after trying this a few more time i took the key out and tried to turn it over again but still nothing. after sitting there for about 2 mins the car started right up! any ideas

well its just a switch under the pedal, similar to the brake switch. just pull out and install new. first look under there to see if its loose or pedal is not pressing it right. could be many other things too.
