Nut identification
Nut identification
When changing the oil, found this nut under the driver side of engine. I could not find a bolt on the engine that it may match up to but saw the same nut used on the engine. Any ideas? I have not disassembled any parts that use this nut.
thanks

Re: Nut identification
Check suspension components. that's the only thing I can think of that would use a flanged nut like that. Maybe exhaust flanges?
Quick question, is that a 10 or 12mm nut (or.. other size)? Would maybe give a better indication.

Re: Nut identification
Josh, Thanks for your reply. It is a 12mm nut and I can see that it is also used on the brake line unit, power steering, and couple other places visible from above. I am hoping that it was just sitting on the frame or wind baffle under the engine, maybe from being dropped there from a repair in the past...
I'll look around underneath during my upcoming pcv valve cleaning.

Re: Nut identification
Check some of the bracketry/manual tensioners for the alternator, ps pump, or AC compressor
