so i might be in a bit of a bad situation here, all of the engine mounts have been removed. it looks like it might fall. photo doesnt do a great job of showing, but the engine is tilting on the wood blocks, and in turn they are tilting off the jack, in retrospect i probably should have got a jack that can go higher instead of doing this.
Update: so i got all the bolts holding the transmission to the engine back in, and have done my best to put some jack stands under the transmission and engine to support the engine if it falls, I'm unsure if they will be able to support it though. Edit: im going to see if i can find some wider wood to place the jack stands on, if i can im going to attempt to lower the engine down onto them, then if all goes well im going to take a break. wish me luck jack stands on some wood on the far right side of the oil pan jack stand under part of the transmission the distance between the transmission and the mount, i dont think i can jack the engine the rest of the way up to line the bolt holes up as it is sliding off of the wood blocks on the jack.

Yes, that's what transmission jacks are for. You'll probably get lucky, but holy crap remember that for next time lol. This is terrifying to look at
hahahahah yep i got extremely lucky, i managed to lower it down onto those jack stands on the wood. mark my words thats the last time i'm going to cut corners like that. oh my god. luckiest man alive??

Perhaps.
I still consider that to be me with the 7th gens. I still seem to be the only one who's had an intact engine after a snapped timing belt.
unfortunately due to my shoe string budget at the moment, i have no choice but to leave it like this for a few days/ maybe a week, but i hope i can find a mate with a transmission jack soon. so basically my hopes of taking my car on that camping trip are approaching zero at an incredible rate of speed. im slightly suspicious of the placement of this jack stand, but it looks like the best place i can put it. the engine is not currently supported by the jack but i kept it there as extra protection to stop the engine from falling

Re: engine poorly supported help!!
Less height next time, and buy a bigger jack.
temporarily you can cut both ends of one of those 6x6s square and use that on its end, way less sketchy than the multiple blocks

yep i reckon thats what ill do in the mean time, and for next time i have a mate with a car lift but he is an hours drive away, either way its better than what im doing right now hahaha
