Civic Ferio ES Vtec and EGR

Civic Ferio ES Vtec and EGR
Hello
i have civic ferio and cannt figure out its engine no as its tempered. Also cannot figure out its ECU no.
The problem is its egr wire and connector are not there. I have checked ecu pinout and 12v wire for egr is not there. Most probably head or engine is chaned.
At cruising speed, sometime, it pings, knock, detonation. I have observed it do it when outside temp is high.
I want to connect egr. Can i connect the 12v Vtect wire to egr 12v pinout.
That is when vtec kick in, egr also goes into system.
The car has one vtec, one o2 sensor, no check lights and auto tranny.
