EGR Problem major
EGR Problem major
I am going on boost for the 3rd and finale time I found out why my motor keep blowing its my EGR... I have a new motor that uses no EGR. My head has no passages for the EGR to function properly. I was told I can loop 2 wires to make the Computer think the EGR works and it will get rid of check engine light.. Does anyone know what two wire I need to loop so I can Do this....

Re: EGR Problem major
read my post above this one "entire ex set up" based on that information, busted egr valve has no effect on the performance of the car. its just for fuel economy. to my understanding based on the information in that post. not 100% tho
Re: EGR Problem major
Yeah it effects fuel economy very little though by like 3 miles less per gallom. But It has a 20% decrease effect on horse power. But Im not sure if my EGR is Bad or If the head does not have the ports for the EGR to work properly. I was told I can by pass it By jumping 2 wires but what two wires do i jump.

Re: EGR Problem major
^^ i dont know if its just me but it just sounds like your pulling numbers out of your ***. boiler said he disabled the egr with kpro and if it has an effect on horsepower he obviously wouldnt have done that.

a lesson in EGR101
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhaust_gas_recirculation
I know in some of my older cars, removing the EGR and blocking off the hole with a steel plate meant simply removing part of the emmissions meaning a tad more ponies. Same with the CATs in older cars, but todays cars are different....CATs are generally found right in the cast header or such and EGRs are dependant on the ECU vise versa, so you cant just remove it without consiquences unless like mentioned where electronically closing it off via K-Pro
