EGR valve

I have a 2003 Honda Civic Ex with a faulty EGR valve. I have a new one to put on I just can't get the old one off. Does anyone know what tool I need to get the nut off? I got the one in the back its the front one I can't get. The space is so damn tight I can't get anything in there and maintain the leverage. I've tried everything from wobbles to flexible open ended wrenches and I can't get it off. Someone please help! I just need to get that one but off, any ideas?

a faulty EGR valve
What's faulty about it? Maybe it doesn't even need to come off?

Yeah they suck...
1/4 inch drive 12mm universal joint socket?

Here's one of my trick tools, it works well for EGR valves:

Re: EGR valve

I tried one of those joint sockets, that exact one it looks like but that would work. Got the trouble code p0404. Can you buy that tool or did you make it?

Insufficient lift. That sucks. Hope it's the valve and not a wiring issue.

It's actually a special tool, it was designed for removing one tricky nut on the carburetor of a 1st gen RX-7.

How about heat and bend a cheap 12mm combination wrench into the desired shape?
