Ignition issues now a problem.
Ignition issues now a problem.
Hi I have a 2005 Honda Civic LX four-door sedan I wrote in a couple months ago about my AC problem which is still not fixed lol anyway now I have a ignition problem I went to go crank my car up the other day and the key will go in, but felt like it was gonna get stuck now I can’t get ignition to turn . I have tried graphite and dry lube. Spray pretty much everything that you can think of rocket back-and-forth. I did the park thing I’m a jiggy down there, but I’m just I’m lost and would like to fix it myself *Any ideas of suggestions help part number whatever you can send my way I would greatly appreciate it as it’s sitting in the parking lot of my work. Thank you in advance.

Get the ignition switch out of the car. If you can take it apart without damaging it, remove the lock wafers, and reassemble. You'll be able to turn the ignition with a screwdriver but the car wont start because it needs to read the chip in the key. Your key will work the same as before.
if you need to buy a new lock cylinder. Either get the key for the new cylinder programmed to the car, or remove the wafers and use your old key. You will now have a door key and an ignition key unless you rekey the other locks.
