P2646 code... I'm stumped HELP

OK here goes the story. Girlfriends 2004 civic si threw this code p2646 and goes into limp mode.
  • Scan and replace pressure switch, unhook battery and pull fuse for ecu reset. Works for a day.
  • Pull the vtec spool valve... screen is spotless.
  • Do an oil change as suggested and another reset. Works for half a day.... back to limpmode and same code.
  • Replace spool valve and do reset again. Works for 8 days and codes up again...
what else is there?
Wiring looks good connections are clean.. I'm lost. HELP ME PLEASE

Did you also post this on K20a.org a week ago?

First step in the service manual says to check oil level. Then check oil pressure at the solenoid.

Ahhhh, I had K series on the mind. Good catch. Troubleshooting steps are likely the same. Check oil, then check oil pressure.

should be a 1.7, most likely a D17A2 if it is an Si (unless previous owner put a D17A1 or a D17A1)

Re: P2646 code... I'm stumped HELP

Try an oe vtec solenoid, just grab one from the junkyard. Little old lady might not have done much hard driving, or frequent oil changes. Could also try an oil flush but you just changed it.

Did you verify oil level is correct or not?
